Our speaker and coach was John Fitzmaurice; participants, as in members and guests, were able to actively get involved in discussion in our general arena and also – another new thing to us – in smaller groups in so-called break-out rooms; the opportunity for members to interact, and express their relevant feelings and experience, although not quite as they would have in The Water Rats, before, after and during the session from John.

John kindly supplied us with his slides as a useful reference; available here Positivity GC. If you’d like to get in touch directly with John, contact details are available on his website, or via The Galley Club.

We all experience times when we feel down, or we feel low.  It happens to all of us, it is essentially a mindset, so what if we can find ways to boost our mood, and make us feel more positive.

In this interactive session, we worked through a playlist of positive practices and how we can deal with negative thoughts, so that you can summon the feel-good factor when you need it, interspersed by short 6-minute sessions in break-out rooms with colleagues.

Registration was free for members and their guests; Mark Gedye was our Zoom administrator for this event.
